
Meet STACIA
Before launching Philips Strategic Insights, Stacia Philips (Deshishku) served as Executive Editor and Executive Vice President at ABC News. In this role, she oversaw some of the network’s most iconic and award-winning programs, including Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, The View, This Week with George Stephanopoulos, 20/20, Tamron Hall, and Nightline. She also guided the editorial and strategic direction of special events, as well as the medical, business, climate, and Race & Culture units. Additionally, Stacia led cross-platform editorial, creative, and strategic initiatives across the entire news division.
Previously, she was Vice President and General Manager of ABC Audio, where she oversaw strategic planning, business development, programming, and operations for ABC-branded audio content spanning news, entertainment, lifestyle, and sports. Earlier in her tenure at ABC News, she served as Deputy Bureau Chief in Washington, managing daily news operations and leading a team of award-winning journalists covering the White House, Congress, Global Affairs, Transportation, and Law & Justice.
Before joining ABC News, Stacia spent 20 years at CNN, where she led major news coverage from Washington, Atlanta, and Dallas. She was awarded a prestigious Peabody Award for her leadership in CNN’s field coverage of Hurricane Katrina.
Her career also includes serving as Public Information Officer and Chief of Television for the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, where she designed and executed strategic multimedia campaigns, contributed to crisis communications, and led media training for journalists in the newly formed government.
Stacia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Religious Studies from Southern Methodist University and a Master’s degree in Strategic Communications and Leadership from Seton Hall University.
